Connecting Attorney Share to Your AI Agent (MCP)
The Attorney Share MCP lets you link your AI agent to Attorney Share from Claude, ChatGPT, or any other custom agent. You can search the case marketplace, submit proposals, manage matched cases, and now run your entire seller pipeline — reviewing proposals, accepting the best one, and keeping tabs on every case you've posted — without leaving your chat. The same Direct Share capabilities you use today are available as tools your agent can call directly.
What you can do:
Once connected, ask in plain language and your agent handles the rest.
- Find cases. Ask for the leads you want, such as "I need more California PI clients for my firm." Your agent searches the live marketplace, ranks results by fit and recency, and explains each lead.
- Submit proposals. Propose on a case at your fee, with a message to the referring firm.
- Manage matched cases. Mark a client contacted, signed, or unsigned, and report matter-stage progress as the case moves forward.
- Create referrals. Turn an intake-call transcript into a routed referral automatically.
- Track the cases you've posted. Ask "what's the state of my referrals?" and get your full pipeline — open, matched, signed, and needs-action — with counts for each.
- Review and accept proposals. Pull up every proposal on a case you posted, including each proposing attorney's fee, message, and performance snapshot, then accept the best one right from the conversation.
- Catch up on case updates. Ask "what's new on my cases?" to see new proposals, buyer actions, and status changes across all your posted cases — since whenever you last checked, up to 30 days back.
- Request a case update. Nudge the receiving attorney on a signed case for a status update without leaving your chat.
- Repost a case. Relist an expired or rejected case back to the marketplace in one step, with the option to adjust the fee.
What you control:
There are 17 tools in total, split into two groups so you control exactly what your agent is allowed to do.
Read-only tools (8): search the marketplace, review your referral pipeline and proposals, and read your config.
- get_lookups
- get_search_config
- list_decline_reasons
- search_marketplace
- validate_connection
- list_my_referrals
- get_referral_proposals
- get_case_updates
Write and delete tools (9): submit and accept proposals, move cases through the lifecycle, and repost expired cases.
- submit_proposal
- mark_client_contacted
- mark_signed
- mark_unsigned
- update_case_status
- post_referral_from_transcript
- accept_proposal
- request_case_update
- repost_referral
You set tool permissions when you connect, so you can grant read-only access only, or enable write actions as well.
How to connect:
- Find your Direct Share API token. In the Attorney Share application, go to Firm Settings > Direct Share and copy your token.
- Add the custom connector. Open Claude, add a custom connector, and use this MCP link: https://intake.attorneyshare.com/api/mcp/mcp
- Authenticate. When you click Connect, paste your Direct Share API token and submit.
Your agent is now linked to Attorney Share and ready to use.
Tips:
- Keep your Direct Share API token private. Treat it like a password and do not share it.
- Start with read-only tools if you want to test searches before enabling proposals and case updates.
- You can review and change tool permissions at any time from your connector settings.
- Accepting a proposal is a big step — your agent will confirm with you before it accepts, and only cases you own can be actioned.
Troubleshooting:
- Connection fails after pasting the token. Confirm you copied the full token from Firm Settings > Direct Share, with no extra spaces.
- No cases appear in a search. Try broadening your request, for example by widening the jurisdiction or practice area.
- An action is blocked. Check your tool permissions. Write and delete actions are off unless you have enabled them.
- A repost is refused. Only expired or rejected cases are eligible to repost. If the case is in another status, your agent will tell you why.
